About

Hybrid Handmade and Digital Art

My art is a combination of handmade and digital.  Most of my work begins with art that I make by hand using acrylic, ink, watercolor and printmaking.   After I scan my handmade art, I bring it into Photoshop to explore different colors, compositions and pattern making opportunities.   I enjoy the opportunity to experiment without fear of messing up my original art works.

Imperfection

"I think every single imperfection adds to your beauty. I'd rather be imperfect than perfect."  - Sonam Kapoor

A major theme in much of my work is imperfection.  While I sometimes "touch things up" or modify color, size, shape, etc.  in Photoshop, I usually try to preserve the essence of my handmade work to the greatest extent possible. In my photography, I also enjoy adding texture to add a vintage or distressed appearance.
